Mono PE films

High or mid barrier mono PE films for food packaging. These laminates are developed for the best sealing performance for any packaging type of your product. Our products maintain the performance of your equipment, yet making your packaging recyclable with possibilities to reduce the thickness and weight of your pack. To reach this we exclude BOPET, BOPA, BOPP or other polymer from the standard structure. Then replace them with most suitable PE films and design fully mono PE laminate.

We make a custom approach on each project. Wide variety is a challenge for all, but we have a strong support from our partners – R&D focused producers of PE film. Combining their latest development with ours, we manage to cover all the needs of the customers.

Mono PE, or Monolayer Polyethylene, refers to a type of plastic film or packaging material that is composed of a single layer of polyethylene polymer. Polyethylene is one of the most commonly used plastics in the world due to its versatility, durability, and low cost. Mono PE packaging is used for various purposes across different industries because of its specific characteristics and benefits:

  1. Simplicity: Mono PE packaging consists of a single material layer, making it easy to recycle and environmentally friendly. It’s a preferred choice in sustainability efforts because it doesn’t involve complex, multi-layered materials that are more challenging to recycle.
  2. Flexible Packaging: Mono PE films are often used for flexible packaging applications, such as bags, pouches, and wraps. They are used for packaging various products, including food, beverages, personal care items, and more.
  3. Barrier Properties: While mono PE films are not as effective as multi-layer films at providing barrier properties (e.g., against moisture or oxygen), they can still be engineered to offer some level of protection for certain products. For example, they might be used to package dry snacks or non-perishable items.
  4. Cost-Effective: Mono PE is typically more cost-effective than multi-layer films because it involves fewer materials and manufacturing processes.
  5. Recyclability: Being made from a single type of plastic, mono PE is easier to recycle. It can be collected and processed with other polyethylene materials, contributing to plastic recycling efforts.
  6. Transparency: Mono PE films can offer good transparency, allowing consumers to see the product inside the packaging, which is important for items where visual appeal is a selling point.
  7. Versatility: Mono PE can be used for various packaging formats, including flat bags, stand-up pouches, and more. It can be used for both food and non-food items.

It’s important to note that while mono PE is suitable for many applications, it may not be the best choice for products that require high barrier properties or specific packaging features. In such cases, multi-layer films with specialized barrier layers might be more appropriate. However, for many common packaging needs, mono PE is a practical and environmentally friendly option.
